Sassafras is your home away from home. Set in a converted workers cottage in the heart of Paddington, it’s one of Brisbane’s oldest main stay cafés.
Boasting a huge leafy back yard garden, Sass (as it’s known to locals) is home to amazing breakfasts, brunches, lunches, home made cakes and espresso from Bear Bones. Don’t forget those famous ricotta hotcakes with house made honeycomb butter.
Not to mention Sass is fully licensed, with a healthy list of craft beer, 100% crushed apple cider as well as a modest selection of spirits and cocktails.
We also have a small yet mighty wine list that is 100% vegan and most of our wines are either certified organic or sustainable as well, so now you can really enjoy your drink!
We are one of Brisbane’s original dog friendly cafes, where puppuccinos, doggie ice creams & hand made treats abound!

Hi, I’m Chris and I am proud to own and run Sassafras. I have a real love of outstanding quality food, beverage, service and sustainability. With this as my driving passion I want to share my experience, food, vision and of course my garden with the local community.
